At Lessons in Play we believe the best toys are those made from natural organic materials and for that reason you will not find primary coloured plastic or ‘gimmicky’ toys on our website.

Ninny Noodle Noo is run by WAHM (work at home mother), Nicola Haxell. It was set up in response to her love of wooden toys and interest in finding environmentally sustainable and considerate alternatives to many of the toys available for children on the High Street.

The emphasis is on sourcing high quality toys from companies with good environmental and ethical policies and we have included information about the companies linked to from the toy pages. On the whole the wood for the toys we stock is sourced from sustainable forests and waste in production is minimised - the toys we stock do not come with plastic packaging and are delivered to us packed in recyclable materials. Occasionally we use bubble wrap when sending toys out which is recycled from other parcels we, or our friends, receive - we would prefer to use it than just throw it away!
